Week before second round we bring you interview with next "newie" in CJHL. Michal Radwański, coach of the STS UKS Niedzwiadki MOSiR Sanok U16.

How do you remember your hockey beginnings? Who got you started in hockey and where did you take your first steps in hockey?

My father was a hockey player, that is why I started to play ice-hockey. It was in Sanok.

How did your hockey career develop? What do you consider as the greatest success in your playing career?

For youth categories I played in my hometown. I was also member of U15, U18 and U20 national teams of Poland. Later I played also for senior national team. When I was 16 I went to Canada, I played for juinors teams there. I come back home when I was 21 and I played for diferent teams in Poland. I have few good memories, I was 3 times Champion of Poland, MVP of the team on WM20 Pool B, Best scorer of International league.

When did you begin with coaching? Did you plan to become a trainer during your active playing career? Where have you worked as a coach?

I didn´t plan to be a hockey coach. Because of back injury I had to finish my player career, and than I started to be a hockey coach. I started in 2012, till now I am working in Sanok with youth groups. 

Do you have a coach-idol? What style of hockey do you prefer as a coach?

My coach idol is Pat Quinn. I prefer a north american style of hockey.

And the best moment of your coaching career so far?

I didn´t have yet the best moment in my coach career.

What would you like to achieve as a coach? Do you have any dreams for your coaching career?

I always want to kids to improve, to be a better hockey players.

What goals do you have upon entering the Carpathian Junior Hockey League?

My goals of entering the CJHL is to compete with the international hockey teams with different hockey styles.

Do you think that such an international competition can help young players in their hockey-related growth?

Yes, I do. I think that can help a lot.
