Tell us something about your hockey beginnings. How did you get into hockey and where did you take your first hockey steps?

I started playing hockey as a 7-year-old, when my parents took me to the winter arena in Trebišov to watch a training session. I really enjoyed it and I still do today.

Do you still remember your first coaches? Can you highlight some of the trainers who have had a major impact on your hockey growth?

My completely first coaches were Jozef Biro, Martin Mihály and Igor Šalata, who trained me in the student categories and taught me the basics of hockey. I would most like to mention coach Anton Rojko, who had the biggest influence on my hockey growth. I would like to thank my current trainers Ivan Králik and Radovan Regend, who taught me a lot of new things in a short time.

Do you have a hockey idol or a favourite hockey team?

My hockey model is Sidney Crosby, and among Slovaks it’s Marián Hossa. My favourite team is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who in the past two years have been successful and have won the Stanley Cup two times in a row.

What would you like to achieve in hockey? Do you have a hockey dream?

The dream of every boy who plays hockey is to make it to the NHL, but if that doesn’t work out, then I’d like to play in a European league and make a living with hockey. I believe my dream will be fulfilled.

If you didn’t played hockey, is there another sport you would have devoted yourself to?

I’ve never thought about that. I like to play football, so perhaps I would dedicate myself to football.

The Carpathian Junior Hockey League has its first two rounds behind it. What are your impressions from this competition?

This is good experience and an interesting enlivening of the season; it’s super that we can measure our strength with teams from other countries.

In both round you scored an identical 7 goals. While in the first round this wasn’t enough to get the “titleˮ of best goal-scorer, in the second it was. “Levˮ Yevhenii Abadzhian also scored the same number of goals in the second round, but the trophy is going into your hands thanks to your higher number of assists. What do you enjoy more, scoring goals or preparing them for your teammates?

It doesn’t matter whether I score the goal or assist on it, if it helps the team win; that is what’s important.

The best goal-scorer of the competition is still your teammate Lukáš LAČNÝ (16 goals). Would you like to take his place in this position after the third round?

That’s not important; what’s important is the success of the whole team. I would wish that for every teammate.

Your team has so far been as successful in the competition as you two. After two rounds you are at the top of the standings. Did you expect this development at the start of the season?

I didn’t have any expectations. We are a really great group; we go from game to game and we want to win. I hope we can further maintain our top position in the standings.

The season is slowly coming to an end. What will you be happy with at its end?

We have some important games before us that we have to handle. I’ll be happy if we achieve the best position possible in the Extraliga and in the CJHL.

What at the start of the new year are your wishes for yourself, your teammates and your competitors in the CJHL?

I would like to mainly wish them a lot of health, because this is the most important thing that we avoid injuries and I’d wish them a lot of luck in the coming CJHL games.
