Last round of Carpathian Junior Hockey League is slowly coming. Highlight of it will be ALL STAR GAME, in which the best players of League will play. Cristi Munteanu (Gladiators Galati) was chose by League management as the coach of SOUTH STARS TEAM. One week before game we speoke with him...

We already know nominees for both STARS TEAM for few days. Now we are interested which players you chose to "opening line" and who is going to be a captain of your team?

In goal we will start with ANDRISOI Ionut Cristian, each goalie will have one period. As opening line I will send on ice home players, it means players from DebMis Select. Captain of my team will be Alex Vargaeštók.

Have you ever been as a part of ALL STAR GAME before, as coach or player?

For me is the first time having this satisfaction and myself promise is that, till the end of my career I’ll never stop develop my knowledge as a ice hockey coach.

League management chose you as the coach of SOUTH STARS TEAM, what it means to you?

For me it is a honor and also a prove that the way I am doing my job as a coach is on the right way. Join to CJHL, our possibilities to be an equal rival to other teams and now my nomination for being a coach of SOUTH STARS... all of this bring more credibility of my work, from the parents side, players and some of the hockey officials from my club and I hope from all clubs from Romania too .

In your team you will have players from 3 countries, how you will communicate with them?

I think we could manage it in English together and hopefully I can make them enjoy playing this game as a great team we are.

You chose as the team captain Alex Vargaeštók from MŠKM TREBIŠOV. Why? How he attracted your attention in CJHL games?

I chose Alex, because I think he is real "gladiator"! He impressed me with his way of playing, he ,,struggle” in each game from the begining to the end and he can share this "illness“ to all team , too. He enjoy playing, no matter against who is he playing.

Do you expected "real" game or you think it will be more exhibition and fun?

This game has to have everything that a good game have to, because is a regal game. And I think that most important thing is fair play, respect and right attitude of players to their duties on ice. Without those things the young players can not step farther as a hockey player.

In your team you will have also your friend Mircea (Cristi´s assistant in Galati team). You will use him on ice as much as possible, or you let him sitting on the sub-bench?

As I know him, Mircea will be in a team as a friend and a good example for all players. Certainly he will be squeezed as a lemon fruit :) I will have no pity with him, it was his choice to play in this game :D

Which result of the game will satisfy you?

Nobody likes to lose, no matter which game are playing, so as a coach I like to finish all the time "on our feet", I want my players do the best in every game, so after game we can be proud of the work we have done in it. To always done our maximum, no matter who we play against..
